Model 1B Corn Sheller

I bought a Model 1B Corn Sheller. On the side of the belt driven pulley, I can see where it appears to have a spot for a cone shaped item to be pushed into in the middle of the pulley. Does anyone know what it is for and where to get the piece that matches up to it.

The cone shape you are referring to was used when the farmers were saving corn for seed. Farmers picked out their best ears and then shelled them for seed. Before running the ears throught the sheller, they used the "cone" to shell the ends of the ears first. The end kernals are irregular shaped and didn't work well in the planters. So these end kernals were used for animal feed, and the rest of the ear was then shelled for seed.
