I have a model 509 case power unit . When I try to order a gasket set etc and give the parts dealer the model and serial #'s they have a lot of trouble matching up the numbers to the right parts. Does anyone out there have any suggestions to simplify this procces. Do I need to ask for a certain name brand or what ever can be the problem?

the 509 should have a serial number. When looking up engine parts use the Case 500. Parts book will show the difference in head gaskets. Match head casting numbers with correct head gasket.

You can also buy gaskets from NAPA. You have to buy two head sets for a 400 to get enough gaskets. They don"t list a set for the 500.
