moldboard 2 bottem plow

i can not mount the lift arms to plow on my 3910 tractor. the bar balls are to wide for locking pins to mount in lift arms. can the bar be replaced?

any help Don b cedar hill texas

What brand of plow? A photo would help. Is the diameter of the balls in the 3 point arms a bigger diameter than the shaft? If so this means you might be trying to mount a category 1 implement to a category 2 tractor. Often this works but in some cases the category 1 pin holes only allow for narrower category 1 ball ends.

the plow is old, no name, the shatf has a shoulder on it that stops the ball from clearing the hole.

the ford 3910 is category 1. thanks for your interest Don Burden
If your tractor has the replaceable lower link balls you can replace them with narrower balls.
do you know where i could order these. how to remove the old ones thanks Don

A fairly common probem. See the discussion in this link (below) for some ideas. You can modify the pins of the plow if you want, but the more common fix is to just grind a smidge off the balls of your tractors' lift arms. You don't even need to grind the whole face down - just a groove for the lynch pin. That way you just turn the balls around when running Cat II equipment and you don't have any more play/slop than you did originally.

Your Ford 3910 is a cat ll/l, so it can have either cat ll pin balls or cat l. The hole in the cat ll balls are 1.125" ID. Cat l balls are 7/8 ID. I think they are brand-specific

You can buy each size category ball from any farm store, online, or implement dealer.
