the white tractor with a 585 is a 2-150. i am currently running a g-1000 with the 504 bored .060 over, p-pumped, and turbocharged. right now in central texas it is just considered a turbocharged class. so no pump, turbo, or cube rules to speak of.

YOU WILL BUILD A LOT MORE HORSE POWER OUT OF THE 585MM BE CAREFUL ON YOUR BORES 20 OVER NOY SO MUCH 40 ,60 OVER YOU CAN CRACK THE BORES INTO THE WATER JACKET

HD 800 cranks drop right in a 585. Some folks use Deere 531 pistons. With the HD crank that makes 637 cubes or so. Heads can be machined to accept CAT or IH injectors, eliminating the need for a fuel cell piston. I was going to do this but opted for a smaller NATPA LP gas puller instead.

Your class sounds like one of those brush pulls we have around here. Do you ever have to pull with those gvi's or 705's with hd800's in them? They give us fits around here. It takes a pretty stout diesel tractor to compete with those things! I know of a guy with a worked over 504 and he can't seem to beat them.

What rods do you use with the hd800 crank and 531 JD pistons? can you safely run a turbo with this set up?

yeah there are a couple gvi"s with 800hd as well as a gb with a 800hd. they are extremely strong pullers. right now they are still out pulling me. if i get a little smaller tubo i can spool quicker i should be able to take off in road gear and give them a run for their money.
