motorcycler tires? enough load range?

so I was set on finding some used motorcycle tires for my 1948 8N until a friend asked if a motorcycle tire could handle the load of the tractor. This got me thinking . . . is he right or will it work just fine? Thanks!!!!!

on's 8N has had them on front for years. No front end loader on his.

They are going to be lighter load rated than an autyomotive or truck tire. Motorcycles go 700-800 or so. Cars and light trucks 1200+.

Owner's manual shows front weight distribution to be 800#.

No loader your will be just fine. But there are also some pretty heavy duty motorcycle tires out there that are made to take a lot more then the run of the mill tires. Now the odds of you finding some or the heavy duty ones are slim but most tires the size you need will work just fine

that"s sounds cool, does any have pictures to show what they look like. if you are looking for bike tires, check with m/c dealers that has big heavy bikes, like gold wings [honda], electric-glide [Harley] etc.

Been sitting for awhile when this pix made, but air was all it needed for tires.

Just be sure to check the sidewall. I think the front tire on my cx500 is rated for 325-375ish and my r90/6 is a bit higher, but those are fairly light bikes by today's standards. Most of today's full size bikes are so big that I'm sure you can find some higher rated tires.

I'm starting a tire hunt myself....

ou are welcome. Great savings & rip up turf less than tractor ribs, too. I didn't invent the idea, but sure like it.

I ran 19" motorcycle tires on the front of my TO 20 Ferguson for over 30 years. All I did was rake hay mostly and they worked OK for me.
