The original subject was "Re: MRS tractors".

I purchased a mrs tractor and have been tryint to find any info on it i can and hav had no luck. . . . wondering if u would know anything about my tractor or could steer me in the right direction ? i was told its a model 105, it is 4wd has a 6v-71 detroit in it and 26.5x25 tires on it...i could also have the serial num for you if it would help... thank you for any help

MRS is short for "Mississippi Road Service". The 105 was built from about 1964 to 68. Built with either an IH or, as in your case, a GM with 265 engine horsepower. MRS built mainly roadbuilding equipment, including a lot of heavy wagons. Tractors were built from 1964 to about 1987 I think, but I am no expert on these-I have only seen one, and it was in a junkyard.

A farmer in this area(NW ND)has an A90, with a Cummins. He has a v-plow on it for plowing snow. He doesn"t use it for anything else. He"s the 3rd owner around here. The first owner got it from a construction company in Colorado. It"s definitely a well built machine, though somewhat crude.

Years ago I drove for a farmer and his neighbor had a "MRS" that I saw working across the fields. It was painted yellow and had a blade on the front. I thought the MRS stood for Missippi River Special.
