I have a mtd lawnflite riding mower. it has handlebar style steering and a old metal tractor seat. It has a trasmition under the seat and only goes one speed, front and back. It has four rubber wheels. It has a 4 hp Briggs and stratton motor. the whole thing is only about 2 FT tall.
I would like to know what year it is. And about how much it would be worth. Please help me out.

Just punting, but 4hp engine rider would date it to appx early 60s.By end of 1960s 5hp kind of became the common engine and 6-7hp came on in the mid 70s.Riders generally trailed Tractors by a couple Hp in size until the 80s.
As to value,it's a buyers market,depending on condition,all depends on finding a buyer and how"much"they want it...but all in all,it isn't gonna make you"rich" :(

Joe,

I own a few of these small riders, send me a pic to my email address and include the numbers from the Briggs engine.

4 horsepower Briggs engines were used on the tiny riding mowers with 24" decks until the early 70's.
