I need to know two things:
1. The distance or amount of space between the Armature and the Stator;
2. When you turn on the mower to run it, it runs but won't stay running. What do I have to do to fix this problem?
Any information regarding this information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Little more info might help folks to be able to help you. What engine, model number, year, serial number, etc? Tom

A thick business card works well as a stator gap tool, should you decide to swap stators. The gap isn't critical, as long as there is enough clearance to avoid contact. As for the
runs and dies boogie, usually carb problem, today's gas goes bad fast. Check float level, main jet at bottom of bowl * must * be clean !

a buisiness card is a bit too thick in most instances. It changes the timing.

And some new coils won't fire at all with too much gap.

I have a box of shipping tags, and one of them cut down in width, makes a great timing gap tool. Never had a problem with that type of card.
