southern ohio, found some very small black ones under leaves, still to early, suppose to snow tonight. then warm up again, funny weather let alone all the rain we got.

Had someone sneak in and steal some last year. This year I have a game camera that will catch the thief.
Still to early and cold for them here, though....

i have a large flock of wild turkeys all around me. do they eat mushrooms i know they sure do alot of scratching around tear up everything

i have never found morels, any tips on locating them? i pick sheepshead mushrooms in the fall, got close to 40 lbs from 9 shrooms. do morels grow on any particular tree or just deep in the woods under the dead leaves?

Me and my neighbor went out today up in her woods and found 40 mushrooms while it was 42 degrees and sleeting in central Missouri.

I had a nice stand of morels couple of years ago & went back to get more & turkeys had been thru there. They left one mushroom.

Nutritionally speaking, what is a mushroom really good for? They taste good, but from a dietitians point of view, what would someone say?
