I am trying to remove clutch from 1948 M.I have the instructions from the vintage ads,but they appear to be for a super M with disk brakes. I have removed the drum cover and every part up to the fiber disk, but cannot how to remove the disks. Any help appreciated.

Are you referring to the aftermarket M & W hand clutch on the left side of the frame, or the main engine to the transmission clutch?

I have this drawing also, it appeas to be for a super m with disk brakes. Would it be different for a 1948 m?

John when I was rebuilding my M&W clutch on my H I ended up destroying most of the fiber discs. When you get everything off down to the discs you should be able to tell how the outer circumference of the fiber discs and the inner part of the drum are splined. In my experiance there was enough corrosion built up that it did not allow the fiber discs to just pull out easily. Maybe with enough patience you can use a file...wire brush...ect... to clean it out and this would allow you to pull them out. Then of course between each fiber disc will be a metal plate that will have splines on the inner shaft. Good luck.

I know where you can get parts if you need them. Let us know what you run into.
