My 1250 finally died

Well I think my gas 1250 finally died today. Running fine and cut off. It spun for a min then I have just a click. I can turn the engine so far one way then it will spin then click. I put wrench on it and only turns so far.

I think I might have dropped a valve or broke a spring.

I am thinking about not fixxing it to bad I just had the starter redone.

I would check it out. Make a mark on the crank pulley when it stops turning. Then turn it the other direction and see how close your mark is that way. Next take the valve cover off and see what it looks like on top of the head..

Was that a 4 cylinder,I can't remember? There was a guy on here a year or so ago, KennyN(AL) I think,looking high and low for a generator/governor for one of those.

Yeah its a 4 cylinder. I have a 2 generator but only one governor... I have 2 1250's
