Nice ... Looks like you did a great job on this one.

Hope we all were able to help solve some of your issues.

Always remember that a problem well described is a problem half solved.

You are welcome Phil and thank you...
This is my first unstyled JD....I agree, They have a quality about them.
Michael PS... Plus, it is fun to drive!

Thank you John and yes they are twins! The tires are 12-4-36...
I apologize to the former gent for calling him John too. You have a beautiful tractor there and I know how much time and effort you have in it.
Best,
Michael

That I do not know.... I like the look of the dish, but I like the spoked also. From the info I gathered from the previous owner of this B and research on the web...These are the original rims.
Thanks,
Michael

I noticed that the magneto cap is for a XH909 mag, which was for a John Deere LA tractor. That mag originally turned Cw,instead of Ccw and was a gear drive, instead of lug drive.Did you ever change mags to see if that helped it run better. I wonder why some parts of that mag were changed and not all. Nice tractor, good luck with getting it to run right.

Many B's had those front flat steel dish, when I had mine approved for Expo they warned I must NOT change over to front spokes

I noticed that too. I have never seen the cap on the inside of the LA mag. I wonder if the caps will simply interchange to fit on the XH Waterloo mag?

It will fit,but the distributor rotor wont be right, the terminals are much farther apart.Dont know how it could be right when it fires, that why I asked if maybe it was causing his problems.Like to see what dis.rotor is in there and/or what they put in for the magnetic rotor

Hi Guys and thanks for the response...
I had this mag rebuilt by a gent with 45 years experience...He tested it in shop and it fires great. He did not mention the cap to me. But, I will look into it. I did try a very good Wico C mag from a great running 35B and it seemed to run a little better initially, but then same...
I will look into this...
Thanks again,
Michael
