I hooked on a 4 row 7000 John Deere planter to plant some sweet corn and the Hyd. on my 770 will just barely will lift the planter if you stop and open the throddle wide open. I then tryed to raise a 8" auger to see if it would raise that it would only raise it about half way up anybody got any ideas what would be wrong with the hyd on it?

More than likly the 770 does not have a high enough pressure to lift it. If you really want to use the 770 it will probably need a 5 inch bore cylinder to get it up.

My 770 lifted my White 8 row 6100 2 years ago, so you should have plenty of snot for theat 4 row.

Mabey the bottom plate has worn out. I re-check the fluid level, then change the filter.I believe there is a flow control on the one swivel.

Good luck, Larry NE IL

770 should lift a 7000 4 row fine.Do you have access to a pressure guage which couples into tractor hydraulic remote fitting? A tractor repair shop or dealer will have one.

I might suspect a worn pump or cracked center plate at pump or open/weak check valve.Does it go through hydraulic fluid?

Check the pressure to start with. Your center plate is not cracked. When you tried to lift the auger if it is like our 8 inch auger you will run out of fluid before you get it 1/3 of the way up as out auger has a single acting cylinder. Go from there and report back. Also how many attachments on this planter, Fertilizer full no till coulters other attachments? They had 4 inch cylinders for a reason as an option for the 770 in fact in thinking back some of our customers that planted with a 770 had 4 inch cylinder. J.
