NAA/Top Link/Bush Hog

NAA with 5 ft Bush Hog
What is the recommended position of the top link at the tractor side of things?
The yoke or whatever it is has three holes available. They are top middle and bottom. There is also the option to disconnect from the draft control spring and rod letting the whole deal swing down.
I guess I'm asking which hole I pin the top link to and whether or not I keep it connected to the draft control.
If it matters I will be cutting f some pretty rough terrain.

always use the lowest possible hole. the top hole is not recommended.

AGREED. NEVER use the top hole unless running with a 'spike harrow' or some other light duty(surface scratcher) implement.
The leverage/sensitivity on your draft control with the top hole is NOT worth the wear and tear on your hydraulics.

Wouldn't it be best then to unhook the draft control yoke altogether ?

You need to always have the draft yoke connected, otherwise if you go over something with the rotary cutter"s rear wheel, it is going to slam that connection into the tractor and probably break something. Your hitch geometry also will not be correct. Always, always have the yoke connected whenever you are using the 3 pt hitch.

Again, agreed. Mr. Malcolm gave you the best of advice. If it didn't NEED to be there, it wouldn't be.

yep.. low hole for heavy or high draft implements.. top hole only for very light draft implements like spring tooth harrows.. ertc.. as mentioned..
