Near death expienence

involving the tractor. Was working on it in the shop with the doors closed during 40-50mph winds, and during that time i heard a loud "bang" but i diddnt know what it was. About the time things calmed down, i went back to the house. I saw a pole there, for the old electricial hookup to one of our barns. LEt the dog out a few mins later and figured it out when i looked around with a flashlight. The entire side of the barn roof landed about ten feet from the wall of my shop. Flew clean across the yard. If it made it 10-15 feet more i wouldnt be here right now. I was on the other side of the plywood and sheet metal wall, between the wall and the tractor. It is HUGE about 25 feet long and 10 feet across. Incrediable. MAkes you think.

THis morning it was 51 degree's outside. Real nice outside with my coffee here in Mid Missouri. But a few shot hours it turned to bitter cold and wind blowing terrible....Then snow started.. kind of light.. but weatherman said.. scattered rain only.. lol lol It went from light snow to hard blowing snow. Could see only a short ways down the road driving in it.
Put my bank card in gas pump to fill it up. When a blast of wind took it out of my hand and across the drive there.
So there this old man is running after a card. The wind is trying to blow me over to. Got the dang card for someone drove over it...shessss
Went home and said.. Nope! Not going out no more!
lol Glad you were ok and not hurt today. Was your lucky day.

Had about the same thing happen one night. Buddy & I were sitting around the woodstove after working on the tractors, after dark & heard a loud crash. Flashlight & looked outside. Electrical pole fell over beside main shop door. Luckily our trucks were parked to the side & luckier still we weren't walking to the house & it fell on us. No wind or anything. The pole was rotten & that was the time it picked to fall over.

We had tornado warnings, so we took the family to the cellar. I went up to check the tv and looked out and saw there was a tree down and possibly across my wife's company car. The warning had passed so I ventured outside.

Sure enough a tree was down and had crushed the park bench between the company car and the tree. It also busted a tail light on the car scratched the paint up in several spots and punctured the passenger side rear tire. I just wish it was one of our cars instead of her company car.

I think the park bench probably took the brunt of the force and kept there from being more damage to the car.

The wierd thing was, I got to experience the cold front first hand. It was still 52 degrees, but there was some spitting of rain and flakes of snow. That was kind of cool. Just a few moments later, I'm sure the temperature plunged.

We had over 60 mph gusts here in Nashville, TN. probably 300 miles south of there. Sounded like train and airplane at same time. I've probably got shingles missing and the Lowes contractor lot just over the RR tracks lost roofing anw a bit of all that stuff they have stacked. Didn't lose all their roof though because some of it clattered half the night!

its ok lanse least ur aliright.. channel 7 was showing rotating winds south of arcanum and near the darke-preble county line road.. wait.. thats my house.. me and a few buddies were out in the shop. watching tv and tearing an engine apart. all the sudden the winds calmed, started hailing like no other and then wind just roared! i flipped out and said fellas to the house. they were poking around and i yealled MOVE! well we got in the house and by that time.. telephone lines were down we still have no phone. and the trash i was getting ready to set out was now blowed bak against the pool and the buckets flew off the stacks of the pickup.. i was scared.. not gonna lie.

So was i. We may have gotten some hail, im not sure, but it was sheets and sheets of rain where we are. We lost power for a few seconds and i put a flashlight in my pocket so if it really went out i wouldnt kill my self on the way to the house. I was goin to go to the house, but ive been blown off my feet sevral times going between garage and house, so i decided to hold it out. Had the radio cranked up out there and could barely hear it, was deafining. Lost a few windows too. Glad ur OK as well.
