OK so I will give you the run down and please let me know what your thoughts are.

Jugs are M5 Diesel jugs 4 5/8 bore and they are cut .030 oversized extra bolt holes have been tapped and plugged O-ring or Fire ring however you want to say it is cut in the heads.

Head were checked for cracks and .060 taken off of them

I am using a 1/8" base gasket to keep the pistons at or below the deck hight

Head gaskets are .060 copper head gaskets that have been anheiled to soften them

I have tryed everything to get it to seal up but I have had no luck at all the first few times I was doing moline spec on torq 115 and 135 using indian head gasket schlack on them leaked
tryed copper coat spray paint and 115/135 Leaked I have had it apart what feels like 35 times trying something diffrent each time last night I phoned a friend and he came and helped his idea 2 dry coats of silver paint and one wet one just before install torq to 185ft-lbs at startup it leaked instantly it pushes so much compresion into the radiator that it buldged the top tank. before the last install we used a straight edge and feeler gauges on the head and jugs and we couldnt get a .003 feeler gauge to go under the straight edge

I am looking for some help at this point I am ready to get a match and blow it up for good!!!

I belive that they are 4217 or something like that but I am not standing right next to them I know they arent the 4210's

are your fire rings by chance not letting the head compress enough to seal the gasket? The aluminum paint usually works for me if you get alot on the gasket and start the engine with no water to get it warm enough to melt that aluminum in the paint and seal things up.

I am having the same problems. 4 sets of head gaskets in 3 months. Fixing to order out solid copper gaskets. 30T heads on a 403. Doesn't sound good for the home team. She ran good for 1 1/2 years now won't stay together for 1 event. I think she is running lean. When I tore her down both the cylinder walls and piston tops are black, and she never got hot. Good luck and keep me posted.

still working on it the stock set of gaskets I made look like swiss cheese instantly!!! the guy in MO did a great job on mine and for a good deal I have heard that sometimes he is a little slower than desired so you will have to keep after them but at just over $100 for the set it was worth it below is his contact info

I did some CC on the heads I have 135cc heads with the bore and gaskets that I am using I have 10.0 to 1 it isnt crazy ammount some of the OE stuff had that so the quest continues

Thank you for the contact information. Still don't understand why she ran good for 1 1/2 years without any problems and then won't stay together. Same heads, same pistons, same blocks. LP fuel. Converter/regulator runs 4 1/2" at constant speed. raises to 6 1/2" at throttle up then back to 4 1/2" for constant speed. Vacuum of 22/24" on engine

O-Rings and copper head gaskets are not made to work together. One or the other, but not both.
The O-rings (fire rings) will seal the compression but will not seal the water. They will also hold the head up. You need a gasket that will seal all of the water holes to use with the O rings.

May be on to something. Went back thru carburetor. She had sucked the gaskets inside the fuel chamber, running super lean. This caused detonation before coming to full compression. I am also going back to the low/standard compression heads(4210's) till solid copper gaskets come in. You having any luck with yours yet?

mine was/is running rich it leaves a carbon track where it blows past the gasket into the cooling holes!
