need help ..with SLEAVES ?..

got question . can u bore 4 inch sleaves to take a set of 4 1/8 pistons ..i got a set 4 1/8 pistons have onley 4 inch sleves for my allis 17 motor. need to do cheap build..

None of the 4" bore sleeves I've ever seen have enough material to bore to 4 1/8" safely. The barrel of the 4" sleeves is smaller than the 4 1/8" sleeves.

You're dealing with soft grey iron sleeves with a low tensil strength so don't think that the minimum specs for a good quality ductile iron sleeve will apply.

You better clean up your sleeves and measure the outside diameter of the barrel to be sure. But to me it's spend $25 per hole to cobble something togather by boreing to thin then finding new o-rings when you can buy new 4 1/8" sleeves for $60 per hole.
