Now guys, get your minds out of the gutter! I"ve got Wacker 600 jumping jack soil packer that won"t run up to full speed. Its got a sealed carb with no adjustments but it has been soaked and rebuilt. New plug, good spark and compression, throttle opens wide, but it just won"t get up to ramming speed. Any ideas? Thanks

I have a real stupid question - are you using fresh fuel? I bet you thought of that first.

I never did understand how those things ran for more than a couple minutes without shaking their guts out. They are a good brand of compactor.

If this a 2 stroke motor, take a look at the exhaust. They get gummed up and it won't run very well. Other thing are the crank seals, if they leak it won't pull a good vacuum in the lower end to pull in the fuel. Usually that affects the starting and idle, but you never know....

I've dealt with this a lot.The hardest thing on that engine is to let it idle. You need to take off the exhaust at the cylinder and clean the port .Also clean the baffle and screen in the muffler. Also check the connecting rod from the motor to the ram to make sure it's not in a bind.Good Luck

Hey Smart Arse,
My wife wants was reading over my shoulder on this post. She wants to know how to find the
thing to yank. It appears to have almost disappeared after 40 years of marriage.
Her mind being in the gutter, I am going to have
her start cleaning parts after that comment.
