New Equipment in 1950

These pictures were taken of some new equipment at Henry Brother's dealership in March of 1950. The DC4 was one of 6 DC4's sold that year, 18 DC's (mostly DC3's) were sold that year according to the sales book. The next pictures are of an E2 elevator and a NCMT baler. My father posted some pics of the SP9's before, but I thought I would post one again, this picture was taken later in 1950. They sold a total of 6 SP9's that year, and from 1947-1956 they sold a total of 38 A-6 combines! Hope you guys enjoy.

Wow great pics and history behind them, thanks for posting them. Its really nice to see what the old iron looked like from the factory, absolutely beautiful equipment.

that looks like my dc4 should look like,, lol, dad had a case elevator that would do hay orear corn or slowly do grain ..

i must be getting old, grew up with an elevator and baler like those.the baler and an SC tractor were traded in 1969 for a new 770 tractor. the elevator was just plain wore out.

I have a "E-2" like that in good shape but mine has set out all its life sure hope to have it looking all shiney like that some day cnt

Drew,I sure enjoyed your pictures, its great to see this equipment in its original new colors.

They were good dedicated dealers too. That's alot of equipment for one year
Thanks for taking the time and posting them

I, um, well I hauled a good E2 elevator to the scrap a year ago. Bought it for $5 maybe 20 years ago and used it to elevate firewood into a wagon from the splitter. Very well built elevator and the sides were adjustable so they could be folded out flat for bales or used in a Vee fashion like the pic or folded clear up so they formed a box. Didn't really want to scrap it but it would have cost me more to take it to an auction than I would have made, if it would have sold. Jim

Forgot to mention, Dad and a neighbor had a baler like that one only it was a hand wire tie. I was just a kid at the time but I can still remember the sound of that Wisconsin slowing down and speeding up with the rythm of the plunger. I still have the goggles that were worn by the guys doing the tying. They pulled it with a B Deere, sorry. Jim

Very nice old Pictures. I love old nostalgic pictures like this!

I hope you don"t mind, but I would like to share these on The J.I.C.C.A. Facebook page, and a J.I.Case Farm Machinery group on there. I"m sure others would love to see these!
