New Holland 451 convert from single guard to doubles?

I've got an older NH 451 with single guards. Can I convert it to the double guards? I'm having trouble finding good guards and the aftermarket guards from farm store just don't hold up.

Is it a worth while investment? Do the doubles cut any better/worse?

doubles work better under most conditions. cost effective ? not sure unless your old ones are worn

Changing over is no problem,whether you see much of a difference will depend on what you are cutting

We're cutting old fields that are no longer used for hay, but our customers want them kept open. Some are rocky and rough, with thick heavier weeds.

In that case I'd stay with the guards you now have and set the cutting up pretty high
