new operation meters?

What's the deal with the $89. operation (tach) meters for sale on e-bay? Why all of a sudden can these be had for the old D14s, 15s, 17s for a relatively cheap price? I got one (not installed yet) and there is NO marking of where or by whom it is made. Not long ago one had to pay around 300 for a refurbished original one.

I've been wondering, too. I paid $300 for the one on my D-14. Works great but is definitely pricey.

Put it on I want to know what the deal is also before I go and buy one. Waiting with baited breath for the explantation!
