Got a new toy! A Farmall M, weighed down under a McIntyre loader conversion. Took my brother and I a few hours with torch and picker truck to relieve the old girl of her burden. Then I found #3 cylinder full of water, and the pan full of anti-freeze! Not good! I.m guessing the water froze and cracked a sleeve, or the head. Hopefully the block escaped damage, but I have to get the head off to know for sure.
The tractor is in good shape otherwise, with new rear tires and the wide front axle, so it's worth some effort. I have a spare head for it, too. May be some big-bore sleeve-and-piston kits in her future!

hate to be a bearer of bad news, but m's are dry sleeve engines, no water contacts the sleeve. hopefully its a cracked head or a head gasket.

I did a SH 2 years ago that had crack in sleeve and
in wall of #2 cylinder. Made repairs to vertical
crack in cylinder wall and installed new sleeve kit and pistons
from this site. Has been working winter and summer
since then and no waterleak.

I'm not sure where your from but I'll give you a good M block for
just your word that you'll get that M up and running again.
Might even have a good head. I'm in S/E Michigan.

Duh! I knew that! temporary brain shut-down, I guess. Anyway, I pulled the head and can"t find anything wrong, no cracks, gasket looks good. How did the anti-freeze get in the pan? Guess I"ll swap heads and see what happens.....
