New stop/start feature

My 2016 F150 has the opt out button but you have to push it every time you start. I'm wearing a hole in it.

JMOR can you explain the “no starter drive involved” statement?
I’m not so sure that the restart on some vehicles with direct injection does not just fire the cylinder that has stopped on the compression stroke. A little shot of gas and a spark then she is off. Of course if that fails the stater kicks in.
