I have done it myself. Big issue is I wanted to clean and repair the rims before installing the tires. Can't expect a tire shop to wire brush/sand blast/weld patches on a rim, then paint it before installing a new tire.

My hope is that after doing all that I won't have to touch them again in my lifetime.
i believe tucker tire will sell those tires mounted on new rims delivered.

Since you have changed so many, what are your accurate cost per tire , compared to do the same job quoted at 450 ?
If you know what you are doing it doesn't take long with a couple bars and a 75 dollar bead breaker. Most times you have to wait your turn for a couple days...in the meantime I'm back up and running.

No you can't expect the tire company to repair and repaint the rims but they will dismount the old tire and let you take it to repair yourself. Then bring the rim back to them and they will mount the new tire.

Need new 15.5-38 tires for my 656, would like to put them on myself, so I go through a local tire shop or is there an online store I can but them and have delivered?
I think that 38" tires are easier to do than the 28" tires. I just changed a total of eight rear tires last week myself. Two were 14.9 x 28" 6ply, four 12.4 x 28" 4ply and two 17.5 x 24" 12 ply. I needed to buy a 52" tire iron for those two. There are tubes in everyone of them. I am 79 years old and only 5'3" tall. I was very tired by the end of the week.
