New York Trip

My wife and I are flying to Buffalo next week to the take in the sites at Niagra Falls. We will rent a car and drive to Canandaguia for the New York Expo, then on to Carlise,Pa for the mopar show. What are the must see attractions along that route should we see? Any information would be appreciated by us. Rodney

The Genesee Country Museum at Mumford, NY which is Southwest of Rochester. Letchworth State Park with its scenic gorges at Mt Morris, NY and going South. LSP is approximately 40 miles Southeast of the outskirts of Buffalo. Strong Museum in the downtown area of Rochester.

If you have never saw Niagra Falls, it is an awesome sight to see. We drove from Arkansas to see it. I still have not been able to phathom where all that water comes from. Have a good trip.

The "Maid of the Mist" is a good ride.
A lot of water is bypassed around the falls to run Beck I , Beck II and Robert Moses .
Water comes from the Great Lakes drainage basin. Some rivers were reversed in northern Ontario and flow into Huron or Superior instead of James Bay/Hudson's Bay.
Some claim a lot of Great Lakes water flows down the Mississippi from Lake Michigan to maintain higher water levels so heavier barges can be floated.

Don't forget you need a passport to get on the Canadian side also when is the car show in carlise mopar show I'm going to be in that neck of the woods the weekend of the canandaquia show

Clean all firearms, ammo any hint of hunting etc from the vehicle. Canada Customs and the various governments will assume the worst and toss you in the slammer. Plus tear your vehicle down to the nuts and bolts.

I live in the finger lakes region of N.Y. Being a J.D. guy the expo is a must see event. I also work in a mopar restoration shop that sets up a display tent w/our most recent work at Carlise. You'r looking at close to 6hr drive from Canandaigua to the mopar show. Both show's have way more to see then can be done in one or even two days and there's so many attractions on the trip between the two i wouldnt even know where to start. The Glenn Curtis museum in Hammondsport N.Y. would be a must do plus it's on the way. Hope you have a safe & enjoyable trip!

Been 18 years since I last lived in the Finger Lakes... Watkins Glen State Park is a very special place. Walk up the gorge a ways. First proposed to my wife there.

Ithaca is a cool town. Check out the wineries on Cayuga and Seneca Lake.

Not much changes in that neck of the woods. I was last back in 2008, and it was if I never left. enjoy it.

Thanks guys for the information. We plan on being at the expo wed evening for a long day thursday at the show, then on to Carlise Friday morning. we will fly back fron Philly. Again I appreciate your input. Rodney
