After market? Or..... unfortunately we have seen this a few times..... someone at some point "cleaned" the tractor for painting and actually scraped the casting codes off.......wire wheel, grinder, what ever 😯 We have seen that on a B and a super A. The super A was stripped to bare metal and every casting code was gone, the guy who did it admitted it 😵‍💫.

With few exceptions if head has a opening at back for steel line to air cleaner intake tube it's not a 400 0r 450 head. If gas SMTA head the casting number of head is under the valve most times. Original gas would be 8060DC or 8574DB. Sometimes castings don't have date code. Wonder if someone left out of mold when cast. 450 manifolds could end up on engine several ways. One way if you needed one from IH parts after 450 were built and previous type manifold were used up you got the latest type for a gasoline engine.
