No hot water..

Well it seems as if in the motor home, there isn't any hot water? The 30 amp breaker trips periodically to the hot water? My brother said it could be the heating element inside the hot water tank.. Is there a way of checking the breaker or heating element???

Most RVs have dual propane/electric water heaters. Does it work on propane?

Are you saying you have a thirty amp breaker to the water heater, and it trips? Or do you have a 30 amp master that's tripping? If the water heater circuit breaker is tripping, you probably have a shorted element. On the other hand, it's not uncommon for the master to trip on an RV with a 30 amp service when the water heater is running on electric power and there are other loads.

Turn off power, remove element cover, remove wires from the element. Check element resistance and the element to tank resistance. Element to tank resistance should be infinite, the resistance of the element should be related to the wattage. Ohms=Volts/Watts.

Since you aren't certain and put those ? at end of your sentences, I recommend you go in motor home and see for yourself if there's hot water and keep a eye on breaker to see if it does or does not trip. If we are playing wag wag here, wag wag there, here a wag, there a wag, I wag water is luke warm and t-stat needs changed, breaker is defective and should be replaced.

Might have got ahead of myself here? After 2 days of running fine with hot water, now all of a sudden with a new 30 amp breaker installed and new element, the breaker is now starting to trip again???

Still waiting for some previous questions to be answered. Dual fuel? Make? What is it in?

Your formula is close but incorrect Ohms = volts^2/watts. In other words; ohms equal volts times volts divided by watts.

Interweb answerers aren't what they used to be, any keyboard jockey worth his salt should be able to answer this question without any details. 🫣

Have you measured how many amps its pulling when heating?

Is the tank full of sediment?

Hmm. I've never run across an RV water heater that didn't use propane, either dual propane/electric or propane-only. But I suppose a large RV with an onboard generator and/or 50 amp service could use a residential electric heater. Residential heaters have dual heating elements, maybe you replaced the wrong element?

It is a 2001' Fleetwood/ Discovery with an Atwood water heater. Not sure about your dual fuel you mentioned?
AI Overview

The water heater on a 2001 Fleetwood Discovery operates on a dual-source system, using LP (propane) gas for quick heating and 120-volt AC electricity (when plugged into shore power or running a generator) as a secondary or concurrent option. The control and ignition circuit for the gas mode runs on 12-volt DC power from the RV's house batteries. [1, 2, 3]

Does yours not have this?

Probably does but if shore power is in the spot rent price why buy propane
