NO TUBES

I have a set of 14 x 38 pressed steel wheels and 15.5 Firestones I want to try and go tubeless, has anyone had much luck without tubes?

It's no problem at all. When you get them mounted if they leak just put some Slime in them and you're good to go, saves a lot of weight.

Just curious, how are you saving weight? Just the tube themselves?

i lost 150 lbs taking the tubes out of my 14.9's and i mounted them on 16 inch rims tough job but i got er did your 15 inch tires on 14 inch rims would be a breeze

So you take the tubes out and then weigh in on an inaccurate scale the following year or even a different scale altogether and proceed to tell us two tubes for 14.9 x 38's weigh 75 lbs. each. Gotcha! I'd say they weigh more like 10-12 lbs. each but you're the smart one it looks like. Now, going by your logic, if I take my rain cap off my muffler and weigh in and just so happen to park in a different spot on the scale or the temperature is 30 degrees different from when I weighed in with the rain cap and I just so happen to weigh 60 lbs. lighter that means those damned rain caps weigh 60 lbs. huh? If that's the case then, we could just hang $10 rain caps on our pulling tractors instead of expensive suit case weights.

Yes sir just the tubes themself. A 18.4X38 will a lot of the time lose 35 LBS. a tire.
