Any one have a good recipe for turkey or hog nuts? Gettin' to be a long winter and I need a treat.
Anyone know of a "nut feed" in the midwest area?

Look up"Turkey Testicle Festival" Should be comeing up somewhere in Chicago far west suburbs.I forget exactly where!

I have never cooked them but a relatives recipe for "mountain oysters" (hogs) is to soak them in brine (saltwater) for 24 hours then deep fry until done.

Oysters and smelt! Now that is a winning combination, you have to go a long ways to beat that. YUM YUM

Not out your way, but here in Oakdale, CA, we're going to have our annual "Testicle Festival" in the next couple of weeks.
It"s sponsored by the local Rotary and is real big....Not my cup of tea, but a lot of people attend.

Oldfarmtractor Orion Samuelson may live in Huntley Ill now but his birth home was Wi. between Cashton and Ontario. My wife is from that area and that is what I was just told. LOL

Worked in the meat business 8 years in Vt. Rocky Mt Oysters went for $10.00 a set. Couldn't get enough of them. Chinese restraunt, Boston, Ma. USDA approved. To each his own. Crock full of nuts.

Flour with salt and pepper to taste. Bread nut with flour mix and fry in hot oil, either pan or deep fried. Depending on how big they are, you may have to cut into smaller pieces.
