O/T- 025 Stihl Chainsaw Issue

I have a 025 stihl chainsaw that I am having issues with. It ran fine a few days ago, but now it won"t rev. It will start right up, but when I give it throttle, it will die. It would run fine if it would idle. I have checked the fuel lines, the filters, the impulse line. I have also had the carb apart and cleaned, and I have cleaned the exhaust. Still the same thing. I haven"t had any issues till now. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

You said you "checked" the fuel and pulse line. Did you physically take off and look at? Stihls are bad about the fuel lines getting cracks ib them and the only way to fibd it is to take off and check real close and look for fine cracks.

I didn't fully check the fuel lines, but pulled out the fuel filter and went over the lines looking for any signs of wear. Also I replaced the spark plug.

, Yep could be faulty fuel line, OR Make up new Gas mix , Pour the old gas in another gas burner ,, My Saws get cranky on old Gas

Got a farmboss here that has to have a new gas line every 3 years. The line cracks where it makes the bend on top of the fuel tank. When it's sucking air it runs just like you described yours.

Check muffler spark arrestor. Have had them plug off with carbon.

Matt, Same thing happened to my Stihl. Replace the fuel line like somebody already said they get cracks in them that when warmed up they tend to colapse.

Like the others said, fuel line. My .026 needs a new one every few years, dam! ethnol eats them.

Two things that happened to me this year. I had some premix gas for my little engines and I put it in my weed eater. I knew it wasn't fresh but paid little attention as to how old it was. It did just what you said your saw does. I poured it out and replaced with fresh gas and walla; day and night; ran like a top.

Other thing I did was to add Sea Foam to the fuel in addition to the regular mix. It has oil in it so it doesn't mess up the ratio. I had saws and eaters that I was about to throw away because they were hard to start and ran poorly. After the Sea Foam, they all run like a top......the bad gas came after the foam. You can buy it at autoparts stores and put it in everything. It cleans up the exhaust on diesels also; you just wouldn't believe how clean the exhaust is on my '79 Ford 4600 and how easily it starts in this cold weather.

Probably stating the obvious here, but have you checked your chain brake. I have a Husqvarna, and if the chain brake accidentaly gets knocked on it"ll run but won"t rev. Does your chan turn freely.

Jt has it right !!!! I've got an 025. Same thing happened to me . You can't see the crack unless you take it off. Only takes a minute to fix it. I mess with it for days. My dad happened to see the crack, by chance.
