here in Mn. we have a big beetle bug that is known as a June bug. it is brown in color and big enough to knock you off your motercycle. But June has come and gone and I have not seen a one this year. Has any body else seen any? They are only around in month of june and maybe 2 weeks in July. Are they disipearing like Honey bees?

In SC, we used to have these big June Bugs, with an irridescent green shell . As kids, we caught them, and tied a long piece of thread to one leg, and flew them around in circles (poor kid's version of a model airplane) ... I have not seen any June bugs in at least 30 years..

There are lots of insects that seem to have disappeared.. I see very few butterflies, I have not seen a honeybees this year.. wasps and skeeters are all that I have seen this year..

Hows it goin Earl , we dont see many here about 25 miles or so from ya . I grew up over in Oxford and remember them thick at the backdoor in the summer . Were like Davis , we raise waspers and muddobers down here and if I can ever find a market for chiggers I`ll be able to retire .

Wife and I were discussing it, too. Didn't see a one this year in central PA. Always have been abundant.

They were as thick as a thick could be the last week of May and first week of June in SWMN. Then there were none.

I have been seeing June bugs for about two weeks now in Southeast Tennessee but a lot of years usually don't see them until July.

Have not seen any in Bemidji area, but at the farm north of Lake Itasca I had quite a few. Didnt see any yesterday. Bob

There were a bunch of our June bugs around in May, big beetly thing that the ladies are terrified of because they hang out by the porch light and get hooked in their hair.

Going OK, I guess. The dad blasted chiggers are terrible this year, chiggers have always liked me, but I sure don"t like them. As far as wasps, and mud daubers, I have not seen near as many this year, as I did last year. You keeping Franklin County all straightened out?
