Oil filled Heater

Does anyone have one of these oil filled heaters, they plug into the wall and are controlled by a thermostat. Any idea how efficent they are?

Tks

I have 2 that I use every winter and they work fine to help offset the propane cost. I keep mine on the low setting and use the thermostat on about the #4 setting. Our house is well insulated and we use ceiling fans to circulate the air. Maybe $10 a month increase in the electric bill. We have used the same ones for 3 years so far. We always shut them off at bedtime and never leave them on when we"re not home (common sense). Haven"t had a problem yet.

ALL electric heaters are near 100% efficient.

Each Watt of electrical power they "burn" gives you about 3.41 BTU's of heat.

That's an unchangeable physical law.

The rest is just marketing hype that is very efficient at separating g the weak-minded from their $$$$.

my daughter used one in her bedroom, kept it really warm in there. if i use it in the family room i put a small fan by it on low or run the ceiling fan blowing up to get it warm in the room.it cost about a dollar a day to run a few years ago.

I use one in my 35' RV in the winter during dear seasone to even out the temp when the propane furnace isn't on. even when it's about 20 degrees out the furnace hardly runs if the oil filled is on. Keeps it nice and warm.
