Oil plunger

Well I got a new oil plunger and spring and installed it in my 50" 8N and it went from 20 lbs oil pressure at start-up and 10 lbs after running an hour to 38 lbs at start-up and 28 lbs after running for an hour.

Not bad.

I'll say, easy too.

When I took the old plunger and spring out I noticed a flat spot on the old plunger and the end of the spring was broken.

It sure was worth it.

Did your punger cap gasket fit right. Got new one in a kit a few weeks ago amd it was way too big. Would just kinda catch the outer edges of the cap.
Really sloppy.

It fit OK but was shaped funny. It wasn't round on the inside, it was scalloped.

I happen to get mine from external_link. You have to order the parts separately.

I would get the oil plunger, spring and gasket. Its about a 5 minute job and for me worth every penny.

I was on that site before this one, I believe this site has the same parts.

The new one didn't have a flat spot where the old one did. It was slightly off the top on the side worn shiny. I couldn't look in the hole, do you think it may have had some company in there?

Now I wish I got a mirror and flashlight out and looked in there!

can't guess as to what may or may not have been in there.. just have to say that the new plunger.. should also have a 'worn' spot on it.
