Oil Plunger

Hopefully here are pictures of the old oil plunger I just replaced. I just wanted to make sure this flat spot on the side was normal. Sorry about the pictures it was the best I could do.

Leak past flat spot is how timing gears get oiled. Yes, normal.

have the same oil pressure issues, exactly how did yopu replace it and where.

It would be easier with a picture, I could get a shot tomorrow but on the front of the engine you will find a large nut (Page 112 of the I&T shop manual) Nothing is attached to it. Unscrew the nut and take the spring and plunger out and replace with a new one. Takes five minutes.

Perhaps you didn't read the responses to your oil plunger post from 4-20.. in that thread, it was already answered that the flat spot is suposed to be there!

I wasnt sure we were talking about the same flat spot, on top or on the side or both.

IMOP looks like part of your spring is missing. Currently doing total rebuild and my spring has 2 coils on each end.
