I run 40 wt oil in mine and have 20psi cold and 7 to 10psi at operating temperature (for the past 7 years) As far as i can tell as long a sa you have any pressure you shouold be ok.

With my 52 8N I get 60 on start up and it maintains right at 40 all day long bushhogging full throttle in 100 degree heat. But I've been told that these are 'braggin' numbers.
The tractor should be just fine with much lower numbers. I use 30W oil.

One of mine has been about like that for years & is still running strong. You could step up to 40 or 50 weight oil if it bothers you.

Nothing wrong with those numbers. I have a 1950 8N with 45 hours on a rebuild that runs 35-40 pounds at around 1000 rpms and 15 at around 600 rpms, 30wt oil. I have a 1949 with 5 hours on a rebuild that runs 35 pound at around 1000 rpms and 10 pounds at around 500 rpms. The 1949 I ran for 22 years at around 5 pounds at working speed, no tach then, and found no problems with the crank or cam when I rebuilt. Change the oil every 50+ hours or once a year, fall, which ever come first and it should last a long time.

Have you checked your guage? I'm not saying your numbers are wrong but the relief is supposed to kick in at around #35-40.

try ordering a new spring and plunger and installing it. You more than likely will have a ton of oil pressure.
