oil pressure

Can't figure out how my machine suddenly developed oil pressure. I have not run it in about 3 months because it would not produce oil pressure and of course the noises being made would confirm the gauge reading. My buddy came by yesterday and asked if my 2n would crank then I told him about the oil pressure, but cranked it any way.Much to my amazement my gauge jumped up to 35 psi.Am I just living right or what?

If it ain't broke dont fix it?
you most likely lost oil pressure when the engine was warmed up may want to go to a heavier weight oil.

My 2n shows 50+ pounds of preasure when I start it up, and stays there, or almost there after it warms up. Is that normal?
and how can I figure out what year my tractor is by the serial number?
thanks

With 50 lbs. oil pressure @ startup, I bet somebody severely stretched the spring on the relief valve. Owner's manual states 27 lbs. at 3/4 throttle.
