i have a 39 A with a new engine it has about 10 hours on it and i noticed the oil pressure started fluxuating after a few minutes of running. i have put 2 new gauges on it and changed the oil and filter. when the oil pressure comes up it is at 15 psi then dropes to almost nothing . it does not make a differance if it is idling or half throttle. any suggestions. thanks for any advice.

Check ur lines, one must have a crack or loose. Same thing I had on a B and after looking it all over, one of the fittings had broken

I really don't have a clue, but you did clean the oil pickup screen. I have heard of using so much silicone that it plugged the screen. but it sounds like your relief valve is sticking, maybe silicone in it. Is 5 or 6 pounds enough? Vic

thanks for the help i will start checking lines. i didn't use hardly any silicone for that reason. thank you for the help i will keep you posted.

if you have access to a pressurized oil can you can set it at 5 lbs or so ,without the engine running and open the lid and probably find the leak in a flash. This would be screwed into the oil gauge whole, easy to get to.
