Oil Pump Rebuild

I'm still working on my lack of oil pressure problem. I now have the oil pump removed and would like to inspect and rebuild it. Is there a trick to removing the screws that hold the oil pump cover plate? They are not willing to move. Either I must be getting weak or missing a trick. Any hints would be great.

Thanks!

Don"t remember the pump being a problem to come apart....
However, how about the oil supply tube? My TO-20 has two rubber seals that go inside the oil tube at either end. These seals can be purchased from your local hydralic shop. If your seals are sucking air from being disturbed then all the pump rebuilding is not going to get you pressure if your sucking air.

no special trick on removing the screws. Make sure you have the right size screwdriver tip to maximize contact with the screw face. Stop short of stripping the groove in the screw face and get an impact driver. Generally cheap and easy to find. The driver turns when you smack it with a hammer and will loosen even the most stubborn screws.
Poor oil pressure is often due to worn gear set in the pump. The rebuild kit is fairly cheap. Make sure you replace the gasket on the pump cover when you go to re-install. The gasket sets the correct clearance to the pump gears to insure minimal oil backflow around the gears and good pressure.

I have had them that someone used locktite on the screws so heat the screw heads a little and they will come right out.
