Oilver self propelled chooper

How often do u see one of these? Back in the day u could buy one of these in oilver green or minni mo yellow. This machine is located at the farm museum in Greenville IL. And it has a 6 cylinder hercules for a power plant. We figured it must of been madr by fox for oilver since a fox head fits on it.

Never seen one, but a recent article in Heritage Iron says they were built by Oliver. The text says what you say about interchangeability with Fox and dimensions and specs were spot on as well with fox. A great article, worth getting a subscription for the writings on machinery.

If you looked at the machine carefully you would have noticed that the variable speed and controls were like on an Oliver self propelled combine of the same time period. The engine was also the same basic engine used in the Oliver 20 & 2150 tractors. Oliver variable speed combine drives were also used on some tomato harvestors. Oliver wanted to buy Fox, but White Motor overruled the decision.
