anybody ever found a after market for the bearing and cups for the ross steering on a cub cadet?????? I need EVERYTHING . And no i will not go to Case I H for them after last saturday and giving them 75 bucks for motor mounts and almost 8 bucks for a spark plug.i will find the parts i need else where . If i can fix this cubby i will then be able to fix a rainy day . Man was this tractor neglected and beat to death. There was nothing left in the steering box a hole punched thru the steering box where a bearing went thru . Welded the hole up so the at part can be saved . The alum. air box on the engine was cracked and that got welded up and fixed had to redrill and retap the oil pan out to 7/16ths and then blue loc tighted the bolts in had to make up angled shims to go between the oil pan and the cradle . So now it is a matter of getting a new hydro fan a new ft axle pin and shim up the ft. axle. Then to find a new double pulley for the mower deck and here again someone did some BARNYARD engineering and put a GT46 deck under it and the drive belt for a 1450 is smaller then the drive on the deck plus the fact that the org. pulley is plum wore out So i need a double pulley with one A belt grove and one B belt grove. And this i guess will have to be made . NOW if i can find this one guy and he is off his nose candy he can make it in a heart beat out of a billet and do it in about three hours. BUT if he is on his candy god only knows where he is at. He has made me pulleys in the past for the Shar Lynn P/S pumps for the older farmalls and the first one he made me only took him a little over and hour.

Yea I got the bearings and cups a few years ago at bearings and drives. Check with them about the pully too.

There are Cub Cadet parts for sale all the time on ebay.

You could probably buy a good usable steering box cheaper than you can fix that one. John Deere dealers can get parts for the steering box, too, and JD parts are generally more reasonable than Case IH parts.

TV you need to go to a different website, Onlycubcadets DOT com or IHCubCadet DOT com. They have new and used parts vendors there.

Take that crap back to the CaseIH dealer if you can. You can use Moog automotive parts in place of those mot or mount snubbers.

Whenever you need parts, run the part nos thru Google. You can usually get a better price than OEM dealer. On some items I've saved as much as
40% just for spending a little time.Theres any number of afternarket parts wholesalers online.

I don't fool around with the L&G stuff, much, but didn't AC b's, c's use a ross steering box. Don't know if its the same, or not...

Rather than fix your steering box I'd go to ebay and buy a different one. Unless they've been abused (like yours) the only think they might need is a new jam nut, or even just adjust it.

There are usually lots of pulleys (mandrels) on Ebay too, but right now there doesn't appear to be any that will fit your deck (50"?).

When they have them they seem pricy until you try to buy a new part.
