Old chevy Inline six

I"m having a bit of a problem finding out what year my engine is.
The engine is in a 1947 2 ton truck however I have several reasons to believe it isn"t the original one.
The Serial number is FII2L (maybe F112L)
-That number doesn"t match the year of truck
-The radiator was moved forward so this engine could fit (The pulley on the fan is cone-shaped making it about 3inches longer than other trucks engines)
-The starter is cylinoid activated, not mechanical
-And the the front crank pulley was not made so the truck could be started with a hand crank (it should have been though)

I"d appreciate any help anyone can give me on this.

No, but just went. Serial numbers aren"t complete only thing that is complete is casting numbers... Why is that anyway? You"d think as far as records go that serial numbers would be a lot more important than a casting numbers...
I guess I"ll just have to break down and pull the starter out of the truck, scrape off the crud and see if I can read that number...

I'm Gonna bet you got a 235 out of a later 50's chevy it has a pressured oil system versus the splash oil also is your valve cover held down by two bolts in the middle or 4 on the sides if it has four on the sides thats a dead giveaway. Try stovebolt.com a try they are plenty helpful

NO it"s a 6500 I believe. What ever is equivalent to a two ton, however the engine could have came out of anything...

It has four bolts on the sides of the valve cover but I thought two upper bolts made it a newer engine.
