Hey gang

Nuther thing that followed me home today was this old shredder.

They called it homemade but I recall seeing something similar turn up at auctions many years ago. Anyone know what it is? Old International or Farmall seems to stick in my mind?

I bought it just for the pto shaft & maybe the wheel spindles; might put the gear box on ebay (or will take offers if anyone has a use for it or any other parts other than that shaft; have a need for it) as the gear box seems to be OK. I'll hook it to a tractor & try it before disassembling anything).

Thanks!

Looks like a old Servis P2 shredder that was made by Servis in Dallas TX. I don't understand what the the tub things are sticking up in front though? First pic looks like maybe it has the windrow board sticking out back on it? You could put different blades and recutter blades on it and windrow board to throw together a windrow of stalks or something else for baling into hay. We use to chop up green milo stalks and pummies behind combine with one for extra winter hay bales. They are now called Servis-Rhino and part of the Alamo Group.

Thanks; I recall seeing some with those (but the "front covers" weren't on them). I'll look at it closer tomorrow or so & see if I can find any name anywhere on it. Just would hate to see some part that someone could use go to be melted down.

Thanks Glen

Nothing sticking out the back; maybe the rail of my trailer or the dirty blue strap gives that illusion? Those front covers on the tubes have been added (for safety I'm sure); just seem to remember seeing them years ago with those tubes open.

Looking again I see it doesn't have bolt holes or clamp for windrow board anyway. Maybe those were for running bundles thru to chop but why chop them like that on ground? A bedding chopper maybe? Would small straw bales or bundles go thru them before holes were welded shut? Looks too dangerous if those were open for running brush thru while standing by it.

the info tag should be riveted to deck dead center under pto shaft but i'd bet its been redecked.
IF that pto shaft doesnt do what what you need it to do let me know...mines twisted.

Ok; thanks! I figured it was designed so something could enter without being laid down by the front without getting "skimmed over." Just had no idea what; always wondered since I saw the first one years ago.
