I don't disagree that there can be value to old threads and in some cases, they are worth bringing to the top. However, that is not the case with many. In some cases, it just adds confusion as replies may go to the original poster and problem, not the current poster's problem. I know this has been discussed in the past and there are mixed feelings on it.
I see a disclaimer used on some discussion forums such as "This is an older thread; you may not receive a response and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread." If such could be added to the reply to boxes of threads, maybe over a year or two old, here? That would not lock the thread from being pulled up but might reduce the number of the revived threads seen.
We are now about a year into the new software. I like the new format and appreciate the work the staff does to keep things going smoothly.
