oliver 1250

It seems my Oliver 1250 diesel has completely lost compression and won't even try to start. I'm getting fuel to the injectors, no air in the fuels lines, etc. Everything else on the tractor was doing fine, until this. Now I'm looking for an engine replacement. Any ideas where to start my search for a used 1250 diesel?

It is your money to spend as you wish. I think the first step for me would be to take the valve cover off, crank it over and see if the valves move. If a tooth broke on the timing gear and the cam did not turn and the pistons hammered all the valves they are probably bent and did not close which would equal no compression. My 2 cents worth.

I agree with Mr Schwiebert, find out what really happened. Engine kits are available trough the internet. They can be installed leaving the engine in place.

Hello Ben.
I am showing a oliver 1250 as having a Fiat 138 engine. that motor is not too common. I am sure you will be better off fixing yours. I know that some engines have a compresson release to get the engine turning in cold weather. if not you probly have something going on with your valves I would pull the valve cover and take alook.
Good luck Ed
