Oliver 1650 Lights

I've never had working lights on my 1650 I've had for a year or so. Luckily after looking at it over the weekend I got them to work (I think). The fuse was bad so I replaced it with a new 20 AMP fuse. Now, when I turn the switch to the first position, the two flood lights (front and back) on the right side (if sitting on the tractor) of the tractor turn on. If I pull out the switch to the second position the front flood light on the left side comes on but then the flood light on the right back turns off. The tail light on the left side is on in both positions. I have 3 questions
#1 Is this how this should work?
#2 Is there a way I can get all four lights to work at the same time?
#3 Is a 20 amp fuse the correct fuse?
Thanks for any and all help. The poeple on this site are very helpful and I appreciate it.

On our 1655 we have a rotary light switch but the postions should be the same.
1st position (Night/Field) All flood lights on front and rear.
2nd position (Night/Road) Front floods on,red tail on, flashers on.
3rd position (Day/Road) Red tail on, flashers on.
You should have a wire to connect the left and right floods together. 20 amp is correct fuse. Repair manual has wiring diagram. It was a big help to me after Donovan in WI gave me the switch positions. Hope this helps.

Back up here a step. A 1650 from the factory had single headlights and a 2 position push pull switch. All 3 white lights are on on the first notch. On the second noth the rear while light goes off and the red light comes on. Dual headlights were optional and they used a rotary switch like Don was talking about. Witch set up do you have single or dual head lights? Early ones did not have amber flasher do you? How about a few more details/

J is right. I had a 1650 just like what he described. Mine had single flood lights up front. Only two positions for on. One has flood lights all around, second turns off back flood light and turns on tail light, no flashers.
Now the 1655 we use is a little different. Twin floodlights up front and flashers so it is like what was described by Cleon.

I have single headlights in the front, one in the back and a tail light in the back. After rearraging a few wires last night I have it working properly (which is all 3 flood lights turning on in the first position and in the second position the back flood light goes off and the tail light goes on). That being said, can I hook two wires together so I have all four lights on in the first position or will I blow a fuse if I try that?

The idea is when traveling on a road at night you do not want the white light in the back to be on to distract trafic from the back. There is really no need to have a red tail light on when farming at night in the field. Not for sure what you have in mind but if you hook it up the way I think you mean when you go to the second position both the rea white light and the tail light will be on. The 20 amp fuse should work unless you have high resistance some where.
