Hey, I had a tractor head redone on a 1750 gas and went to fire it up the other day and it was out of water, all of it was in hte oil pan.

I filled it up and preasurized it to see where the water was getting into the oil. ONce pressurized water started coming out between the split head right above the #3 cylinders. Has many replaced this gasket on your own?? the head was just done about a year ago and tractor has been sitting since may. So let me knwo what you think

Had same problem some years ago. The middle gasket does that occasionally. Have no idea the cause? I'd guess aging had something to do with it. Best could was a blank head gasket. Made a tight fitting punch out of drill rod to fit the bolt holes and punched out the required new holes. That was over well over 15 yrs ago. No trouble with head since.
At my age, that could well have been in a former life.

Matt I did find the official Waukesha service bulletin on the procedure this morning. I can copy right now but can not scan so U. S. mail if you want a copy.

Several years ago when asbestos was still sold,
I had an 1850 gas. Went away for a few hours, the
guy I had working on it split the head. The local
shop that ground my cranks ordered a piece of asbestos with a steel mesh embedded in the material. It is still running and not leaking 25 years later.
There must be some material available today. It was not very hard to make a pattern and punch out the necessary holes.

Thanks you guys are great. I called the deal today and they had not idea, but are also going to be doing some digging. IF I have a some info, I could spead up the process.
