Oliver 1755

I am thinking about getting an Oliver 1755 and i was wondering if their are any problems with the waukesha diesel in it. I know the turboed waukesha"s were know to put a whole in the block.

Gengler mentioned they are pretty trouble free and in myopinion they are. Now with that being said the tractor can be 40+ years old. It you are interested in the tractor or even purchase it the first thing I would do is take an engine oil sample and have it sent to a lab. See what that sample tells you. The key point is the wrist pin bushings,mI think I would pull the head and pan off and replace them with the one piece bushings. I would say IF you put a little money nto the tractor it should make you a good tractor. I am helping a good friend this winter and we have worked on some tractors of the same age and they are not Oliver Green. They all need to be checked as well.

Ok thanks. I was thinking about investing in the bigger oil when i get it. I know that i would have to pull the motor but i want a good reliable machine.

Good because i want to have an oliver. And i want to have one that is reliable. That makes me feel better that my next tractor wont need a repower.

I had one for years and it was very economical to run. But, the first thing I did when I bought it was to put in the one piece wrist pin bushings and new bearings. Put almost 5000 hours on it before I sold it.
