oliver 77 engine swap

What class do you intend to pull it in? Any association with rules will throw you in modified with the V8's. Most associations have a stock block or equivalent requirement and rightly so. I like to "go outside the box" myself but be aware that you do not belong in stock and won't be able to compete where you belong. mEl

yes i have a s77 w/ an 88 rearend that i have pulled for close to 15yrs, mostly for deadwieght pulling, but used ocationally for an outlaw running pull, will beat alot of smallblocks v8s and alot of built up stockers, where the v8s get a gd bite at the end of the track and fall on there face a gd 292 will drop a 1000 rpm and keep rolling, what are you wanting to use it for, i have a top loader 4 speed behind mine 24 gears, 1/4 mph or 50 u choose lol, tractor wieghs less than 4900lbs with 150 lbs of suitcase wieghts and 710r38 radial tires which wiegh about 800 to 900lbs a piece

I AM WANTING TO PULL IT IN A STOCK APPEARING CLASS WEIGHING IT 7500 AND 8500 POUND WEIGHT CLASS.I HAVE A JOHN DEERE G NOW THAT I AM PULLING VERY COMPETIVELY IN THESE WEIGHT CLASSES BUT WE HAVE A GENTLEMAN THAT PULLS IN THESE CLASSES WITH US THAT DOES NOT THINK HIS SUPER M CAN BE BEAT,IT IS TIME TO CHANGE THAT NO MATTER THE COST.

I AM PLANNING ON PULLING IT IN STOCK APPEARING 7500 AND 8500 WEIGHT CLASSES.I HAVE A GENTLEMAN THAT I PULL AGAINST ALOT WITH A SUPER M THAT THINK HIS TRACTOR CAN NOT BE BEAT,IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE NO MATTER THE COST.IF I GET CAUGHT RUNNING A 292 ENGINE IN IT I WILL PUT FULL CUT TIRES ON IT AND GO THROUGH THE ENGINE AND MAKE A BEAST OUT OF THAT ENGINE AND PULL WITH THE V-8 GUYS.

I grew up on a 77 and know they sound differen't than a 292 so it won't take long to let the cat out of the bag! Oranges to Oranges I haven't seen an unbeatable tractor yet.

if you are running a stock class you wont be able to run a truck motor, it will be caught first time down the track, no govenor and sounds completely different, get a 310 gas out of a 1850, about 80 hp to start with and there is alot that can be done to it, will bolt rt. in and use your 77 drive assembly, may need to update the clutch to at least a 11 in. on a stock 310, if you build it up you will need a button clutch, use an electric fan mount it inbetween the rad. and the grill
