What can you tell me about this little machine good and bad, what years did they build these, what engine and gas or diesel? Can you get parts still, and price range not running needing work?

3G means it is gas, 3 means 3 cylinders. There are 2 series, the first series was still built in the plant in Cleveland, The B series was then built in Charles City Iowa where the wheel tractors were built. There were a number of improvements in the B series. The crawlers are also available with clutch and planetary steering. 1964/65 was the last of production.

Value would depend on why it not running. If the under-carriage is shot and needs replacing, not so much more than scrap value, so a very wide range, dependent on the work needed.

Problem comes when work needs doing to transmission, as everything has to come off, tracks, track frames, final drives etc. Same with steering unless you got one with plain old differential steering, which is a quick fix, by swapping steering bands. Clutch or spot turn steering clutches can only be rebuilt by getting out the differential, which again means taking it all apart. Machines with transmission problems usually go cheap. And as Rab has said, tracks are also an expensive fix. $600 to turn bushings if not worn out, double that to replace all pins and bushings. Many OC4s I have seen have been worked hard unlike OC3s. Buyer beware. Most parts are available. Manifolds, radiators, good transmissions and brake bands being much rarer, however.
Having said all this they are great little machines.I love my two Series Bs - OC4 dozer and OC46 loader!! Oliver were at the top of their game with the 3Gs.
