is it possiable to install the flywheel wrong on a 1955 super 55? when i bring the #1 piston up on its compression stroke to top dead center the mark is not there on the fly wheel. when #2 piston comes up on the compression stroke to top dead center the tdc mark on the flywheel is there, but the rotor is a little past #3 under the cap. thank you in advance

You need to have the rotor pointing to the cylinder that is going to fire or bring #1 up to TDC compression stroke (Make sure you are not one turn off and on #4)and make sure your rotor is on number 1

Sounds like the flywheel is on wrong. The #2 piston and the timing mark are not reliable as they weren't made to match each other. The distributor may also be timed wrong. The oil pump drives the distribtor and needs to be set properly before the distributor is dropped in. Good luck.
